All teachers, staff and volunteers of St. Anastasia Catholic School and Church, who have direct contact and/or would be alone with children, must comply with the Archdiocese of Chicago’s “Protecting God’s Children” Program.
To be in compliance, the following is required:
ALL VOLUNTEERS:
- Complete a background check. To register, go to www.archchicago.org click on Protecting Children link, then select Background Screening. Register as a new user. Complete online application. An access code is required for application. Please call 847-623-8320 to request this code.
- Attend a “Virtus Training” session. To register, go to www.archchicago.org. click on Protecting Children link, then select Virtus Training. Choose training sites. You must register and attend one of these training sessions.
- Complete the CANTS and Code of Conduct forms and return school. The CANTS form is sent to the Office of Children and Family Services in Springfield, and the Code of Conduct form is kept on file at school. Forms are available for download at www.archchicago.org/ProtectingChildren.htm.
- Register for Virtus online Training Bulletins at www.virtusonline.org. These bulletins are posted monthly and reminders are sent your email account.
ALL SCHOOL EMPLOYEES: 1. – 4. Stated above, as well as 5. Undergo Fingerprinting. All school employees are required to undergo fingerprint based criminal history record checks with the state police and FBI. The Archdioceses has arranged for Accurate Biometrics to take and process the fingerprints for new employees. Locations for Accurate Biometrics services can be found at www.accuratebiometrics.com. The Archdioceses of Chicago application for fingerprinting must be completed and turned in at the time of fingerprinting. Form is available at http://schools.archchicago.org/pdf/FingerprintingApplication.pdf. A School Code # is required for processing. Please call 847-623-8320 to request this code.
